Guernsey Gymnastics Centre

Since establishing ourselves within the Indoor Sports Centre in 2015, we've grown considerably and have an extremely busy and diverse timetable delivered by our team of expert coaches and helpers.

We are affiliated to British Gymnastics, the sports U.K governing body. All Guernsey Gymnastics Centre Members must be registered with British Gymnastics. (There is a small annual charge for this payable directly to BG).

Meet The Team

Dewi Scheijbeler

My name is Dewi Scheijbeler, I am originally from Holland. I moved to Guernsey for love. I've been very fortunate to find a job here as a gymnastic coach because that has always been my passion. I'm a former gymnast myself and have competed at national level in Holland.

I completed my level 1 training last year and I hope to complete my level 2 course in May. Before I moved to Guernsey I worked as a primary school teacher. My aim is to teach new skills but most of all to make sure the children have a good time.

Anna Petts

Gymnastics was always a passion of mine growing up. I dedicated many years to the sport until my early teens. I revisited gymnastics whilst living in the UK, both participating and coaching for Hamworthy Gymnastics Club.

Since working with Guernsey Gymnasts Centre I have gained qualification in both Level 1 General Gymnastics and Level 2 Women’s artistic. I am currently enrolled in a Level 3 women’s artistic course.

Lottie Evans

Head of Pre-School Gymnastics

I loved Gymnastics as a child and teenager and it’s great to give something back to a sport by being involved with coaching. Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci were my gymnast idols as I grew up and they still are!  I am qualified as Level 1 General Gymnastic Coach and Level 2 Pre school Gymnastics.

Ceejay Merrien

I’m Ceejay and I have done trampolining for 10 years. I qualified as a level 1 trampoline coach in 2017. I am now also qualified as a Level 1 coach in Woman’s Artistic Gymnastics! I enjoy gymnastics as it is a varied sport so everybody can be good at something!

Lauren Prince

Hi, my name is Lauren and I’m 18 years old. I am a level 1 qualified coach and also a squad gymnast. I have been formally coaching for 2 years now but was a volunteer coach for a year previous. In October of 2017 I was able to gain my Level 1 in General Gymnastics Coaching. I have been training gymnastics for 7 years, 4 years at a different club and 3 years with Guernsey Gymnastics.

Through this club, so far I have been able to attend 3 Regional competitions and 2 National competitions in the UK and represent Guernsey as well as be part of the club competition that we held in December 2015.

Kath Stuart

Kath has been involved in local sport for over 50 years. As a badminton player she has won several medals at island games level both in the team and individual events. She is a level 2 badminton coach and a county umpire. She was employed for 10 years by the Guernsey Sports Commission as a sports development officer before being head hunted by the Guernsey College of FE to teach sports development and safeguarding and protecting children and young people to students on the BTEC level 3 sports courses.

Kath is the secretary of the Guernsey Island Games Association and is also a member of the Sports Management Team for the Guernsey 2021 Nat West International Island Games, which will be responsible for delivering the sports events in 2021.

Helene Duddy

Helene works alongside Kath in the office dealing with all administration enquiries. Whilst sport has always played a big part in my life, playing netball for the Island during my school years, along with playing badminton in the first County team, I'm now much happier sat on the sidelines! I have two boys and a husband who all play a variety of sports so my spare time is generally taken up supporting them in their activities.
